As of January 1, 2012, the CFMEU Northern Territory Branch will combine with the Queensland Branch to be known as the CFMEU Queensland/NT Branch.

The effect of the merger for Northern Territory members will be to see changes with more benefits, stronger representation on the ground and in the courts and new Enterprise Agreements.

Additional benefits for financial members commencing from January 1 include:

• Free financial planning
• Expansion of funeral benefit (increased compensation for spouse and dependants)
• Training subsidies
• Accidental dental
• Childcare subsidy.
