CFMEU Construction and General is pleased to announce a great win for NT members!

As of the October 1, 2009 all financial members will receive great, new extra insurance benefits, including:

• Funeral Benefit (up to $10,000 for each member or up to $7,500 for any spouse or dependent children).
• Journey personal accident cover (to and from work - not covered by workers’ compensation or any other insurance. Up to $1000 per week.(maximum of 104 weeks)
• Holiday travel insurance for each member, their spouse and dependent children.
• Emergency transport cover (ambulance) for each member, their spouse and dependent children.

• Free Wills (a standard Will for each member and their spouse)

Due to this new level of cover, union dues will increase by $85 per term (now $285 for 6 months). That’s only an extra $3 per week.

If you’re on monthly payments, this will change from $33.33 to $47.50

You must be financial at all times to receive these benefits.

These extra benefits are the result of many negotiations on members' behalf and by the National Office, with assistance from the WA Branch.

Members have been consulted throughout the process and overwhelmingly endorsed these new benefits.

For travel insurance cover benefits, you must complete the travel insurance claim form BEFORE you travel.

The union has negotiated a deal with Hall Payne Lawyers to provide the following services to FINANCIAL members:

At no charge:

• Initial consultation, by telephone, on any legal subject with no limitation as to time

At a discounted rate

• All personal injury claims charged at reduced hourly rates or fixed fee rates and offered on a speculative (or no win no fee) basis
• Fixed fees for Enduring Power of Attorney and Advance Health Directives
• All member legal work performed at highly competitive hourly rates and then fees are further reduced by 10% for financial union members
