Farewell & thanks

The strength of a union is in its members — and activists. The CFMEU here celebrates the achievements of our union officials, organisers and delegates who have given lifetimes of service to the working class.  We are all the beneficiaries of their commitment and endeavours.

  • Albert Littler National Senior Vice President - retired 2009 - The CFMEU thanks Albert for his tremendous contribution to the union movement since joining the OPDU in 1964 and particularly for his contribution to the amalgamation of that union with the CFMEU in 1992. Read Albert's story.

  • Martin Kingham Assistant Divisional Secretary - resigned from the National Office in 2010 to pursue other interests - The CFMEU thanks Martin for his long contribution to the union, both in the Victorian Branch and nationally. Martin led the Victorian breakthrough for shorter hours and campaigned continuously around safety for construction workers. Read Martin's story.
  • Lindsay Fraser AM, Assistant Divisional Secretary and National OHS Officer - retired in Nov 2013. His principled unionism is the legacy that Lindsay leaves behind in the CFMEU: his ability to put the interests of workers and the union first.  Read Lindsay's story.
